Every year during the volleyball off season, Fair Grove has their own club team they put together. The team is called FG Unit, and this year there are 10 young players on the team.

The head coach for FG Unit is Lindy Carver and assistant coach is Joe Stacey. Both of these coaches were past Fair Grove volleyball players. These coaches have been working with these girls since January. Harley Maxwell (11), says, “The coaches both push us to be the best players we can be on the volleyball court and also to be the best people off of the court. They are great coaches and role models for all of us.” Practices would normally be on Wednesdays’ and would be two hours long. The time practice would start would depend on the girls schedules as most of them are in multiple sports. During the two hours the girls would focus on scrimmaging drills and work more on defensive minded plays.

The team has played a total of three tournaments this seasons. Harley Maxwell, (11), states, “Our team as a whole has accomplished tons of goals during this club season. We have finally done what it takes to be a championship team instead of the runner up team.” FG Unit has won first place overall in 2 out of the three tournaments they’ve competed in.

The last tournament scheduled for April 7th was canceled due to weather conditions. There has been no rescheduled date as of right now. Bailee Morgan, (10), comments, “FG Unit has helped prepare me for school ball next season. Our team as a whole has improved so much from the beginning of the season to now. I can’t wait to play with this group of girls again.”
