Junior varsity sports are an integral part of any athletic program; the JV programs at Fair Grove High School are not any different.  Each junior varsity team working to prepare themselves for the next level.

Fair Grove Junior Varsity Volleyball is just one of the JV programs the school has to offer. During practice the JV team does all of the same drills as the varsity, and scrimmages with and against them. “Scrimmaging against the varsity builds up our level of intensity on the court, and helps us to improve our fundamentals,” said middle hitter, Audrey Williams (9). “We want to improve our team chemistry on the court, and really work on bettering the ball,” said JV coach, Danny Kepler.

The football program at Fair Grove also has a junior varsity program. Center, Kyle Fritts (9) said the team worked hard over the summer, which furthered the team bond. “We work hard in practices to be well conditioned in game-like scenarios,” commented Kyle Fritts (9). The junior varsity football team is full of young players, many of which start. The team hopes to start their own win streak, and improve their younger players.

Another JV program Fair Grove offers to students is JV soccer. The players prepared for the season just like the varsity. “We had summer practices, camps, and scrimmaged the varsity,” said center-mid, Andrew Shurtz (9).  The team aims to better their younger players and improve their skill, in hopes to get them some varsity minutes in the future.

Finally, the cheer squad at Fair Grove High School has a JV squad for some of the younger cheerleaders.  The junior varsity squad cheers at JV football games, and travels with the varsity squad to all the games they cheer at. One goal for the season is, “to improve their skills and prepare them for the next level, that will hopefully secure them a spot on the varsity squad next year,” said cheer coach, Tiffany Hill.

Fair Grove has several JV programs, each of which are attempting to better their players, and ready them for the next level.
