Fair Grove High School Boys’ Basketball starts their season with a fresh face in the head coach position. Former head coach, Tim Brown left the program at the end of the last school year to take a new head coaching position at Republic High School. His shoes are filled by new head coach, Cale Ramsey. Ramsey has been coaching for six years, and his first year was spent at Fair Grove as an Assistant Coach. “This will be my first year as a head coach and it’s pretty amazing how my first coaching job out of college was being an assistant at Fair Grove, and now my first head job is back here where it all started. I could not be more excited about the opportunity,” Ramsey stated. The players seem to be ready and eager to start with their new coach. Senior, Kamron Stacy said, “Things are different, but we still try to keep the same culture we’ve had over the past few years.”

The team began their season with the 85th Annual Clever Invitational Basketball Tournament; they took 3rd place, and have a record of 2-1. Coming out of the tournament, the team has a persevering attitude; Stacy described, “I think we’re going to do good. We’re going to work hard every day to get back to the district championship.”

The Fair Grove Boys’ Basketball program leads in a new direction, and starts off with a winning record. Their next game will take place on December seventh at Marshfield High School. Coach Ramsey concluded, “Fair Grove is an amazing place to coach and teach. I had witnessed that first hand 6 years ago, so when this job came open there was no question that I was going to apply for it. The community at Fair Grove is like no other place I have been and the closeness that the teachers and staff have at Fair Grove is unmatched.”
