Fair Grove High School R-X School District and the Strafford R-VI School District confirms the merging of the two long time rival schools due to the lack of funding for both of the school districts. Both the schools administration have been attending meetings about the lack of funding from the state. The schools both claim that the state is giving more funding to schools similar in size all around the state. After many meetings, the long time school rivalry school boards agreed to merge into a larger school and build near Marshfield to create a loop hole through the state of Missouri’s High School Education budget. “The northwestern part of Missouri’s schools receive a ridiculous amount of funding. They refuse to give us the funding we need so we will take matters into our own hands,” a Strafford School Board member stated.
They are planning to start the build in May of 2019 and be mostly finished by mid August 2019.
The new school will be built by a local prison architect. Due to the new school being built in such a short amount of given time, the school won’t be completely finished when the 2019-2020 school year will begin. The main part of the school will be done so the students can continue their education. The Fair Grove R-X School district recently approved a 3-day school week. The new school is planning on still implementing this for the new school year. The construction of the new school will continue on the students extra days off and have intentions to finish building the new school before Christmas break. They intend on making the school a 3 story building that includes 2 main gyms and 1, hhopefully asbestos free, FEMA shelter. The new school will also include a high tech security system that requires all students, faculty and staff to wear their lanyard in order to enter the building. “We believed in wearing laynards and why not just give the students more reasons to wear them and keep them safe at the same time,” FGHS Principal Stallings stated.
The school will also include a modern multi-sport playing ground that includes a football field, baseball field, softball field, soccer field, driving range, and even a turf practice field for all the sports to continue to succeed.
The new school district has yet to name the new superior school. The District is asking for your help! If you have any ideas for the new school district name, email [email protected]
