One Undefeated Team Remains

Football is one of the most physical sports that there is. Where there is contact, there are injuries, and injuries can affect a whole team. This week we will be going over the communities most intriguing and team affecting injuries, as well as discuss some of the main upsets and games in football over the past couple weeks.

One of the most nail-biting questions in football at the moment is, “When will Patrick Mahomes will return?” Rumors were spreading on how Mahomes will start against the Vikings in week 9 of the season, but that fell short with Mahomes sitting out another game. After Mahomes dislocated his right kneecap in week 7, back up Matt Moore took over to win the game against the Broncos, and then go 0-2 for weeks eight and nine. Mahomes will start against the Titans, depending how he does with an increased workload in practice.

A couple more injuries have been Ben Rothlessburger (QB) with his shoulder, Cam Newton (QB) with his ankle, Adam Thelin (WR) with his hamstring, Matt Ryan (QB) with an ankle injury, T.Y. Hilton (WR) with a calf injury, Sterling Shepard (WR) with a concussion, and James Connor (RB) with a shoulder injury. With all of these injuries, teams have had to find their rhythm with the backups, and for some, the third string.

The game of the week had to be the Patriots-Ravens game. This is the game of the week because going into the game, the Patriots were 8-0 and the Ravens were 5-2. The Ravens were the first to score with a score of 10-0 at the end of the first quarter. Going into halftime, the score was 17-13. The third quarter was even with both teams scoring 7 each making the score 24-20. Then at the end of it all, the fourth quarter was owned by the Ravens, scoring 13 and letting 0 points in. The final score of this game was 37-20, with the Patriots getting their first loss of the season to go 8-1, and leaving the San Francisco 49ers as the only undefeated team in the league.
