The 2019 freezing season has finally arrived at Fair Grove highschool bringing festivities and Christmas fundraisers that delivers the holiday cheer.

One of the most notable christmas events, in Fair Grove, is the Christmas Parade and Tree Lighting. This year’s parade included the Fair Grove marching band and colorguard, a posse of horses, and assortment of fire trucks and floats. But, most importantly Santa, who later appears for the Tree Lighting after the parade. As well as Parades and other cheer giving activities, Fair Grove Highschool gives host the the Angel tree program.

Ever since 2009 Fair Grove has been host to the Angel Tree program which, “helps provide a nice Christmas to a family that might not have a good Christmas otherwise,” Says Lisa Bernet, Head of HR & Communications at Fair Grove Highschool. With each new run of the Angel Tree program every kid adopted from the families in need receive Christmas gifts, such as toys and clothes, provided by anonymous groups. As well as food and hygiene items from Heart2Heart for the whole family. One of the anonymous groups is the Fair Grove Band and choir. The leadership from both groups shopped for gifts to be provided and will be giving their adopted family a gift card for groceries. Natalie Palomo, the band teacher at Fair Gove, thinks that what other should take away from the Program is to, “Try to help others if you’re capable…”

Lisa says that most students from Fair Grove will graduate having helped the Angel Tree  program in some way shape or form. “Many student groups in the Middle School and High School adopt a family as a community service project,” Says Lisa. Some students participate through their own families, who help adopt another in need. For the 2019 school year 28 families have been adopted and 89 students will be getting a very merry Christmas.
