In the spirit of the holidays, this month for my local theater update I decided to attend Springfield Little Theater Education Department’s The Biggest Most Best Cool and Funny Super Awesome Chill But Still Really Spectacular Christmas Show Of All Time!!!!! Written by Eli Cunningham and directed by Zoe Zelonky. I don’t know about you, but one of the fastest ways to get me in the Christmas spirit is to watch children’s Christmas programs. When I was younger, my favorite part of the holiday season was performing Christmas songs we had been working on since Halloween. You could just see the excitement on their faces as the curtain opened. It was absolutely adorable.

The program consisted of a cast of 20, 18 of which were under the age of 9. Most have acted at Springfield Little Theater before, but 6 of them made their debut. The program was supposed to depict the last practice before a huge performance. They had the lyrics and choreography memorized for several songs, and for the most part they all knew it really well. At the end of the show they surprised their teacher with a new song for the finale.
