2019-2020 School Year Comes to a Close
April 17, 2020
On April 14 at 2:35 PM, Principal Stallings sent out a quick informational video regarding the end of the school year, as well as prom and graduation. Many seniors have responses to the shocking news.
For those that didn’t get a chance to see the video sent out by Principal Stallings, it explained the fact that school will not be in session, and how work will not be mandatory.
Senior Haili Good explained her feelings, “All through high school I looked forward to the day I would get to walk across the stage, to the day I walked the halls for the last time,” Haili continued, “ I’m glad I’m graduating, but the way the school year ended is heartbreaking.”
Senior Sydney Dame expressed, “It sucks. I really wish I would’ve been able to finish out my school year with my friends and teachers. I was really excited for this soccer season, so getting canceled is really disappointing.”
Senior Dominick Hoskins also described the situation, “It really stinks. Most kids would be excited due to the fact that we don’t have school for the rest of the year, but it sucks for me because I’m a senior, and this was my last year.” He furthered, “I didn’t get to do track this year and I was really excited to do it because I knew this was the year to be better than I was in the past. I was determined to have my mind on state in my event, and I now can’t do that.”
Good explained her favorite recollections and informed, “Some of my favorite memories include being a part of the great community Fair Grove has to offer. Being a part of pep club and cheering on my peers at every event I could make it to, it was great! Another one of my favorite memories would have to be all the pep assemblies our staff put on, those will always be remembered.”
Dame stated, “Some of my favorite memories would have to be making finals at our marching competitions, Maranntha getting her head spray painted during soccer practice, going to Orlando with the band, and watching our boys’ soccer team make it to the final four.”
Hoskins commented, “My favorite memories from high school are definitely my friends and sports for sure. My favorite memory had to be just being with my friends everyday and making school the best it could be.”
