The History of Music
October 1, 2020
The history of music is a very deep subject. Music is the soul of people. It tells stories and makes some of the most beautiful poems into song. They write cathedrals from only words.
Except, I am going to get into the gross part of music, how some of it is stolen from other countries and how it does not always bring out the best in humanity while in the making.
I will be going over genres of music and different artists. The people that marked a new era of music will be mentioned. I chose this topic because music makes you express things you didn’t necessarily know that you were going to express. Music can unlock all of our emotions and bring memories back as well.
Every culture connects with music. Tribes use song to worship as do most religions. Music was made for dancing and throughout history people have used music to celebrate every aspect of life.
Stephanie Dunham, a Freshman who attends Fair Grove High School, commented, “It helps me when I’m stressed out and also can get me to sleep. My family is a musical family so I have been around music my whole life. It shaped me to take band and learn piano.”
I myself am one of the only musical members of my family so it set me apart from them. I took that as a gift and people with an active imagination who think in depth see music differently. They hear it in a golden way that transforms them and how they feel.
Music hasn’t always been singing, it’s been created through all types of instruments. All around the world there are endless possibilities of tools to create sound and use the sound to create a song. A medley is limitless and that’s a beautiful thing about music is that it is as unique as the writer. Musicians aren’t just good at singing but composting a song with different instruments to all blend together making a united sound. They also create beautiful poetry and stories within a short amount of time in the song.
Music brings people together but every story has a villain and has a plot. Not everything ends the way it’s supposed to.
