The Fair Grove Junior Varsity Football team has finished out their football season and the team is ready to get out on the varsity field.
Before homecoming, Michael Zanzie, one of the coaches for the Junior Varsity (JV) team, spoke about the team and said, “I’m looking forward to our kids not getting content with being on JV but using it as a way to show their abilities to hopefully get some pictures on Friday night.”
As a coach he also has some expectations for the JV team before they make their way up to the Varsity team. He stated, “I’m expecting that we play physical and disciplined football. I expect that we take care of all of our duties and responsibilities outside of football and be productive members of our school and community.”
A player on the football team, Gage Hill (9), said that the most important thing he is looking forward to during the season is bonding with everyone on the team and winning games. He also believes that in order for there to be a good football season there needs to be a good attitude. He said, “I can work on my attitude and build people up during this season.”
Another player on the football team, Blake Baxter (9), said that the most important thing he is looking forward to is winning games. Baxter feels that he needs to have more energy and that he needs to try harder.
The junior varsity has finished their 2023-24 football season undefeated with a record of 8-0. Although their season has come to an end, the varsity’s has not, they have their last in season game on October 20 against Eldorado Springs, which will also be senior night.
