Mrs. Jennifer Anglen is a middle school teacher at Fair Grove Middle School that has made an impact on many children through her years of teaching at Fair Grove.
Mrs. Anglen has been teaching for 26 years in Fair Grove. She began at Fair Grove student teaching in fourth grade, and then progressed to teaching one semester in third grade. After that, she switched to teaching fifth grade for 22 years, and is now currently teaching sixth grade World History.
Throughout her time teaching in Fair Grove, the most rewarding part of it all has been having the privilege of watching her students grow up, and become active members of the community. She added, “I love seeing them with their families and their own children. Some have joined my wonderful profession and are my colleagues. I have even gotten to teach some of my previous students’ children. I also get to hang out/visit with previous students at local events due to them having children the same age as my son!”
At Fair Grove, Anglen has been impacted by not only the teachers, but by Fair Grove as a community. She has felt so welcomed by the families and students she has worked with, along with her coworkers, with them being so helpful and generous along the way.
Anglen continues to express her gratitude by stating, “They have challenged me to be better. Fast forward to 2020 when I received my cancer diagnosis. Fair Grove helped hold me up during that time. Now…they graciously continue to put up with me! I continue to get the best kiddos and families to work with. I knew from the very beginning that FG was where I wanted to be!”
Not only has Fair Grove made an impact on her, she has also made a tremendous impact on Fair Grove Schools. She has worked with and enjoyed learning with her students of all types. She loves working with all types of students and people, and believes that everyone brings something amazing to the table. This proves that she has made an impact on students, those including Hannah Bruner (12).
Bruner was in Mrs. Anglen’s Crochet Club throughout middle school. She stated that Crochet Club gave her a place to execute something that interested her, and also provide her with the resources. She continued by saying, “Mrs. Anglen impacted me as a person because I remember her as a person who was always patient and kind, no matter the student. Mrs. Anglen is one of those teachers you will remember, even multiple years later as a senior in high school.”
Through her years of teaching, Mrs. Anglen has made an impact on not only students, but on the community as well, and the community has, in turn, made an impact on her.
