Fair Grove Substitute Teacher Jim Rich, known to students and faculty as Mr. Rich continues to uplift, encourage, and leave an everlasting impact on students and staff in the district.
Rich is known for his kindness and compassion for all of the students of the Fair Grove District. Rich inspires and impacts many students at Fair Grove, including Atticus Brandes (11). Brandes stated, “His (Richs’) positive attitude always brightens up my day and I know he does that to others as well.”
Rich is very loved and respected by students in the district. Carson Trussell (10) said, “The way he influences the kids and teaches them the right way is a reminder on how great of a person he is.”
Rich is very well respected, but is also known for his respect for the students. Trussell also stated, “He treats each kid with the highest respect and when you have Rich as a sub, you know you won’t leave that hour with a bad attitude.” Rich continues to leave a positive outlook after each class.
His attitude in and out of the classroom helps students in their own personal lives. Dylan George (10) said “Rich has impacted my outlook in a positive way, causing me to think positively and improving my self esteem.” Rich has changed the attitudes of many Fair Grove students.
Rich says some encouraging phrases throughout the school day, including, “I believe in myself”, and “I feel good.” These phrases have stuck with students all across the district. George stated, “These resonate with me because I believe it’s so important to speak positive words over yourself.”
Rich also helps students be their best selves. Brandes stated, “Rich inspires me to be a better person when I’m in his presence. I strive to live more like him one day.” Rich is a positive role model for so many people.
Although he may not be at Fair Grove every single day, he leaves such a big and positive impact on many students in the Fair Grove district. Many students look forward to having him in class as a substitute.
