As Fair Grove High School navigates through the second school semester, the seniors are soaring through their final year with anticipation as they approach closer to graduation.
Brigid Woods (12), expressed a summary of her senior year so far, “Honestly my favorite thing right now is being able to take a bunch of easy classes and just being able to take it slow. I would say at Fair Grove I am mostly going to miss some of my favorite teachers.”
Hannah Bruner (12) also added, “My senior year has been good. It has definitely been the most cliche ‘bittersweet leaving your hometown friends coming of age’ feeling, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything. This year I have prepared myself for my future, experienced many lasts, some firsts, and kept a few constant things.”
Bruner continued, “My favorite thing about being a senior is getting to have the privilege of knowing that the chapter of my life that I have been in for so long, is finally closing with proper closure.”
Each senior interviewed expressed their bittersweet feelings about “last experience.” For example, many seniors experienced their last football game, their last cheer practice, and much more. Fair Grove High is full of sentimental memories that allow the seniors to experience their last year of activities in a bittersweet way.
Bruner stated, “Being a senior, I would describe it as ‘beautifully flawed.’ Senior year is hectic and you are trying to navigate all of the scary things that you have to deal with in the real world like colleges, scholarships, moving out, everything else.”
Bradley Blecher (12), described his future plans by stating, “I will be applying to colleges and looking at my options and maybe thinking more about what I’m going to do after this year. That’s really the only stress that comes from this year for me.” Many seniors all around the school are experiencing stress with finding their future with careers and adulthood.
With the year coming to an end, seniors are anticipating, preparing, and soaring through the school year one last time. This perseverance and gratitude toward the 2024 year shows how Fair Grove High School students exit the school with a warm goodbye in the Spring. For now, they work on project grad, and count the days until graduation.
