The Fair Grove Lions Club is a local organization that helps to better the town of Fair Grove and its people. The Lions Club strives to provide the community of Fair Grove with a safe environment through their works.
The current Lions Club president in Fair Grove is Brandyn Mallard. The Lions Club meets throughout the year on the 2nd and 4th Monday of each month. Each meeting takes place at 7:00 P.M. at the Lions Club building, located at 142 S Orchard Blvd.
21 year member of the Fair Grove Lions Club Les Mallard gave some input on the history of the club saying, “The club was instrumental in getting the first phone system in Fair Grove as well as organizing construction of financial contributions to the senior citizen housing in Fair Grove.”
Mallard stated, “The club partnered with the Fair Grove Historical Society to build the pavilion at Main Street and Highway 125.”
Fair Grove Lions Club President Brandyn Mallard stated, “The Lions Club’s main mission has been to make sure that every child that has a need for vision care has access to optometrist visits and glasses when needed. The organization also works with leader dogs for the blind, and we help finance the training of the leader dogs.”
Brandyn Mallard mentioned, “The Lions Club helped by starting the youth baseball and basketball in Fair Grove and then turned them over to the Fair Grove Park Board.” The Lions Club also helps to make contributions to the water department of Fair Grove.
The Fair Grove Lions Club donates to local businesses and families that are in need along with giving scholarships to Fair Grove senior students. The Club also assists families with buying Christmas presents and helping with general festive needs during holidays. They work year round to help families enjoy the holidays and have a good time without stressing so much.
The Lions Club in Fair Grove is there to serve the community and help people out who need it. Their mission is to make holidays fun and enjoyable for everyone around, and put on affordable events. Mallard said, “I feel that it is rewarding to help the community and the individuals of the community.”
Brandyn Mallard stated, “I enjoy being in the club and explaining to anyone who is participating in the events that we hold to raise money that they are not only at the event having a good time, but their participation and donations are truly being used to assist our community and other nearby communities in need.”
As the town of Fair Grove continues to evolve throughout the years, the Lions Club stands to provide a safe and enjoyable environment for the local community through their various events and activities.
