Eagle Elite is held once every month students in Fair Grove Elementary are recognized and honored for their performance in school.
Ryan Buffington, the assistant elementary principal, stated, “Eagle Elite is a recognition program designed to celebrate the exceptional achievements of our students who consistently demonstrate positive behavior and academic success.”
Buffington went on to say, “The concept of Eagle Elite originated from my desire to instill pride and motivation in our students through positive reinforcement and acknowledgment of their efforts. Children thrive on recognition, and this program serves as a way to celebrate their daily accomplishments.”
Eagle Elite happens once a month as an assembly. Students are recognized for many things. All students in the elementary school can be recognized for things like hard work, good behavior in the classroom, maintaining high attendance and ect.
“The assembly features exciting elements such as performances by the high school band and special appearances by accomplished individuals, like the state champion basketball team. Students are selected for recognition by their respective classroom teachers,” Buffington said.
Natalie Palomo, the director of the High School band, has students in pep band play in these assemblies. Polomo stated, “The kids seem to really love it! The band typically plays before the assembly starts and we sit and watch the rest of it unfold.”
Palomo continued,“The kids get so hyped for their friends who get recognized, and they clearly care a lot about being an Eagle Elite. I think it benefits them by providing a motivator to be on their best behavior!”
Eagle Elite is a program for younger students to feel very proud about their accomplishments in school. It’s a good way for kids to feel recognized. The next Eagle Elite assembly will be held April 19th.
