This year for Halloween, PTO (Parent, Teacher Organization) has offered for Fair Grove Elementary students to send Boo Grams to other Fair Grove Students.
Boo Grams are one dollar and include a blow pop and a message that the elementary students can customize.
While the Boo Grams are only for elementary students to buy and send out, the students can send Boo Grams to anyone in the Fair Grove school district. For example, they can send a Boo Gram to a high school or middle school student.
PTO does a lot of things for the Fair Grove School District and is in charge of a lot of events that are for the school, each year. For example, they are in charge of the School Carnival, the Holiday Shop, the Daughter & Son Plus One event(s), Holiday Grams, and the Hygiene Drive. They also support Fair Grove’s teachers and staff district wide with meals and snacks for teacher appreciation week, parent-teacher conferences, and much more. On top of all the events that PTO plans and executes, they also donate all the proceeds from the events back to Fair Grove Schools every year.
In the past, PTO did something like the Boo Grams around Christmas time, but decided to do Halloween grams this year. Ashley Lederich, who is PTO president, a Fair Grove Pre-School teacher, and a parent of a Fair Grove Student explained why PTO came to this decision. “We decided on Boo Grams vs. Holiday Grams because we thought offering some fun, spooky wishes this year would be a nice change,” she said.
Lederich also commented on how the elementary students and elementary parents were informed about the Boo Grams this year. She stated, “We sent home sheets of 9 blank Boo Grams to all the Elementary kiddos to fill out and send back if they like.” Students’ parents can send back the forms, filled out, and with money so that the Boo Grams can be sent out to the desired Fair Grove Student(s).
Forms for the Boo Grams were sent home October 11th and the Boo Grams themselves will be sent to the recipients on Halloween Day, October 31st.
