The Fair Grove boys soccer team will be graduating seven seniors after this season. The seniors were recognized on Tuesday, October 21st at 4:30 pm, when they played Thomas Jefferson. The boys won and improved their record to 14-5 with this game.

The seniors graduating are Preston Padgett (forward), Austin Newman (defender), Nick Andrews (defender), Jon Bledsoe (center-mid), Alex Schneider (defender), and Anthony Campanelli (outside-mid).

Preston Padgett stated, “My favorite play this year was, the Lebanon game, when Kyle played me a long ball and I scored on a breakaway.” Padgett feels they have done very well this season. Padgett says, “We had good chemistry and came together over the season. It could always be better, but I’m more than happy with this season.” Padgett commented, “For underclassmen going to play, show up on time for games and practices.”

The Eagles ended with a score of 2-1 for a win against Thomas Jefferson. Preston Padgett (12) scored both goals for the Eagles. For the first goal of the game, Sebastian Newkirk (9) passed Padgett the ball and Padgett executed the play with a goal. The second goal Bryan Hart (9) assisted Padgett in the goal. Thomas Jefferson’s came into the game with a record of 5-9. Anthony Campanelli (12) stated, “I feel like they have talent, but I think we were the better team and should have got the win, like we did.”  He feels the game was good overall. Campanelli also thinks that one of the only things that could’ve been better was passing in the first half. Campanelli’s highlight of the game was knocking down a kid and him getting the foul.

The boys last game of the season will be against Laquey. The game will be on the Eagles’ field at 4:30 pm.
