The girls basketball team has been preparing for the start of a new season with the first game coming up fast. The seventh and eighth grade girls forming the team have been working hard in practices, two hours after school Monday through Friday. “Last year, both teams ended the season with a winning record, so we have big shoes to fill,” says Coach Carrie Green.

The team is ready to hit the court and start the season with confidence. Coach Green comments, “This year we have a group of girls that really know how to play the game. They are athletic, quick, aggressive, and play tough defense. We should be fun to watch! I’m looking forward to our games. We have some great middle school rivalries with Strafford, Catholic and Skyline that should make for some exciting games.” 4

Though winning games is not the only thing on Coach Green’s schedule, “This year, I want each girl to have a great time playing basketball, improve their skills, and take one more step in preparing for high school basketball.”

The first two games to kick off the season is an away game on Monday October 27 at 6:00 p.m. against Stockton and an away game Tuesday October 28 at 6:00 p.m. against Skyline.
