The Fair Grove Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD) organization hosted their annual Christmas party on Wednesday, December 3rd in the high school gym near the end of the school day. Their christmas party was attended by students who participate in the SADD club. The party consisted of singing, snacks including oreos, milk, candy-canes, and egg nog, as well as a gift exchange between club members.

“My favorite part at the SADD christmas party was at the beginning when we sang Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer,” said junior Jorden Stacey.

The students gathered in the high school gym 7th hour for their Christmas party. The gym was set up with four tables, one for the gift exchange game, one for food and drinks, and two for gifts brought in by student club members. SADD president Claire Foster began the Christmas party by singing Christmas songs and encouraging all the members to sing as well. After the caroling, club members broke up into four groups and participated in a game where a candy cane had to travel through their group without using their hands. After the game, students rushed to the tables to grab a gift of their choice.

“The gift grabbing was fun, but also a little crazy. I think I might have jumped over someone!” exclaimed Claire Foster. Mr. Foster, SADD sponsor, ran the gift exchange game “Lefts Make a Deal.” Each student received a number and if their number was called, they had the option to pass or play. If a member choose to play, they exchanged their gift for a potentially worse or better gift behind their chosen box of one, two, or three.

“One of the best gifts given was the one pound Reese’s,” stated Jorden Stacey.

The SADD Christmas party has become an annual event taking place on club day in December each year.
