On Friday February 6th, the annual courtwarming game and dance was held at Fair Grove High School. The night started with the coronation of the new queen before the boys varsity basketball game. There were three princesses, Taylor Bell (9), Autumn Wilson (10), and Shea Wallace (11), along with three queen candidates Jordan Robertson (12), Claire Foster (12), and Carolyn Hardin (12). Robertson was elected by her classmates to be the 2015 courtwarming queen and was crowned by last year’s courtwarming queen, Alyssah Orr. Robertson commented, “It was such an honor being chosen as courtwarming queen. I was so excited when I found out.”

At halftime of the boys game, the cheerleader put on a special halftime performance. “I thought the performance went really well,” said Morgan McCart, “My favorite part is when my stunt group did our full up.” McCart also added, “We had practice twice a week since the end of December, and a practice every day a week prior to the performance.” The cheerleaders are planning on doing the routine again at the boys basketball senior night on  Friday, February 20th.

The Fair Grove boys basketball team ended the night with three wins over Skyline. The varsity team dominated with a 73-57 win. After the game, the courtwarming dance was held in the Middle School commons. The theme of the semi-formal dance was A Night in Paris, which included a giant Eiffel Tower as a decoration. “My favorite part of the dance was probably the decorations. We put a lot of time and effort into them and it ended up looking really great,” stated Robertson (student council member), “I also enjoyed that it was semi-formal because being on court, I had to wear a dress so it was nice that I wasn’t the only one dressed up.”

“My favorite part was dancing like crazy with everyone,” stated Makenna Hill, “I also liked all the food.”

“Overall the dance was very successful and a lot of people attended,” concluded Robertson.
