The week of February 17th through the 20th was supposed to be a regular school week, with the exception of Monday off, for President’s Day. However, snow and ice kept school at bay, which paved the way for students and adults to have fun in the snow. Students enjoyed 10 consecutive days off, counting weekends, President’s Day, and snow days.

Christina Cavanaugh, mother of Kyle Cavanaugh, enjoyed the several snow days. “There is nothing more I enjoy as a parent than having my house full of my kids’ friends and that was about every night, because of our snow days,” says Cavanaugh. “We slept in, played in the snow and laid around and watched tv and played games!”

Spencer Wood, a junior at Fair Grove High, spent most of his snow days hanging out with his friends. “I spent a lot of nights at Preston’s house, with Travis Beach, Steven Huskey, Jayden Kensinger and Ryan Padgett,” says Wood. “We played Cards Against Humanity, ate food, and played a lot of NBA2K15.”

Shyan Proctor, a freshman, barely played in the snow and went to a lot of sporting events. “I hung out with Jordan, Kyle and Kamron Stacey. We went sledding and played in the snow, but I spent a lot of time at softball practices and went to basketball games,” states Proctor.

Hannah Faulk was one student who enjoyed her snow days outside in the winter weather. She says she spent a lot of time with her siblings, building snowmen and eating ice cream. “I built a Mizzou snowman since Mizzou is my favorite sports team. We also ate a lot of snow ice cream and had a lot of fun playing outside,” says Faulk. “We attached our sled to the back of our UTV and went sledding through fields, it was so much fun.” Faulk says that the snow days were full of tons of memories that she’ll never forget.
