The Fair Grove Eagles Middle School Track team finished off their 2015 with the Mid-Lakes Conference meet held at Strafford May 4th. The team saw both the 7th grade boys and girls take 1st place, as well as the 8th grade boys and girls take 1st place. This was the team’s 8th overall meet, after competing in meets at Skyline, Bolivar, Ash Grove, Marshfield, Strafford, Hollister, as well as the Skyline Relays, and the MLC meet.
Boys Head Coach Brendan Carroll shared his thoughts about the season by saying,
“The season went very well. We won several meets including the MLC meet at Strafford. The kids worked hard and competed well throughout the season. I’m proud of their effort and accomplishments this season.” This year was Carroll’s first as Boys’ Middle School Track Coach.
Among notable performances for the Eagles and Lady Eagles teams, were meets at Skyline, where the the 7th grade girls and 8th grade boys took 1st place overall, and the 7th grade boys and the 8th grade girls took 2nd place overall, with the 7th grade girls having eight girls place first in their events. For the Eagles though, this was a common theme, as they were able to take first or second place in numerous track meets this season in either 7th or 8th grade boys or girls.
For Individual performances, 7th grader Maddie Clark has caught the eye of the coaches and numerous others at the meets, as she was recently featured by Ozark’s Sports Zone and KY3. Clark hasn’t lost a single event she has competed, whether that’s long jump, 100, 200, or 400-meter runs, and is running times that would compete with many high schoolers at the varsity level. The Middle School track season has now come to a close.
