FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America) is a club spread nation wide that gives kids the opportunity to experience what it is like in the business world and how to be a leader.

There are over 200,000 students who participate in FBLA throughout the United States. Students get to go to competition and compete in events against other students for a chance to go to state. Mrs.Robinson (FBLA co-sponsor at Fair Grove HS) stated, “ It’s a good opportunity for students to learn about the business world outside of the classroom.”

At Fair Grove High School FBLA participates in many school functions like Powder Puff where the girls play football against each other. “ It is a fun time seeing the girls try to play football and watching the boys try to be cheerleaders. It is great being able to play a sport you do not usually get to participate in and it brings the community together. ” says Kelli Oplotnik (senior)

FBLA also contributes to Man Puff which is a school function where the volleyball players are the coaches and boys get on to teams and play against each other. It was a big turn out and helped raise money for the community. Coby Church (senior) says, “ It is fun getting together with friends and we raised over $400.” The proceeds from the event all went to the Heart 2 Heart program.

A huge part of FBLA is the Blood Drive. The kid’s jobs consist of being a comforter, blood runner, escort or working the cantine. You could also be a donator. Leah Wahlquist (Junior) says, “The Blood Drive is one of the most important events that FBLA does because it saves lives.” There were over 40 people who donated at the most recent blood drive.

FBLA reaches all across the United States. Haley Stallings (senior) says” FBLA is important because it teaches leadership skills not only for the business world but for everyday life.”
