Parents as Teachers (PAT) and the Title 1 department joined together with the Fair Grove Elementary staff to host a Family Fun Night on December 17th. The event was held in the elementary gym, cafeteria, and library from 5:30 pm to 6:30 pm.

Family Fun Night consisted of doing crafts, decorating and eating cookies, and listening to stories. The night was open to any parents and students Pre-k through 4th grade, along with any parents and students that participated in the Parents as Teachers program.

One student that attended was 2nd grade student Leila Huff. Huff has attended Family Fun
Night for the past 3 years. She comments, “I come to make the crafts.” Although this may be the reason she comes, Huff loves to decorate and eat the cookies. Another student who came to Family Fun Night was Claire Hollan,
a kindergarten student. Hollan says, “I enjoy decorating cookies.”

Parents and students who attended also got a visit from a well known man. Santa Claus made a special appearance around 6 pm to visit the students who came. Along with getting to see Santa Claus, students who came also received a free book from the programs and school who ran the event.

Students were sent home with a letter from school to their parents to inform them about the Family Fun Night. The school also posted flyers around the building and sent out an email over the E-News.
