With winter slowly but surely coming to an end the Fair Grove track team begins to prepare for the upcoming season. The Eagles are looking to have an even better season than last years phenomenal season when they sent four athletes to the state meet. Those athletes being Jorden Stacey (12), Joe Caudle (12), Isaac Mauldin (10), and Sierra Anderjaska (10).

The coaching staff for the track and field team has made some minor changes one of those changes being the loss of Coach Tonya Peck. Since she is now the school counselor she was not able to coach this season. Mrs. Martin is now the high school girls coach. Mr. Talbert is still the high school boys coach.

One of last years stand out athletes was Jorden Stacey. Jorden made it all the way to state in pole vault and the 200. She finished 5th in pole vault and 15th in the 200. A very solid performance for going up against the best athletes in the state. Even though she made it to state in the 200 she is still wanting to improve. One of her goals for this season is to improve on her 200 time and also her 100 time. “I am super pumped to run this year because we have a fast group of freshmen coming up and they’re going to be a huge benefit for us,” Jorden says.

With lots of new, talented young athletes coming in to the track program the team is looking forward to the start of the season. They had a solid season last year and are looking to have another great season with even more athletes going to state.
