The Cross Country team finishes strong as Ryan Odom (11), Alex Ince (10), and Hayden Pierce (9) each ran a personal record time in the last race of the season. “The season went well. Nearly all of the guys on the boys team improved their best times from last season,” stated Head Cross Country Coach Brendan Carroll.

Ryan Odom (11) medaled seven out of eleven races and emerged as the team’s top runner this year. He finished in districts with his best time of the season at 18 minutes and 24 seconds. For the girls’ side of the cross country team each of the ladies competed strong and finished well throughout the season.

Macey Stallings (11), a newcomer to the team, medaled in 2 out of the 5 meets she competed in while also playing volleyball and cheer throughout the season. “My first year of cross country went really well, it got me in shape, and ready for soccer season,” Stallings said.

Carroll is very excited for next season, and expects a lot of his kids to have a good shot at making it to state next year. “If Logan Holliman (11) and Stephen Scaletty (10) stay healthy, they both have a legitimate shot.  Hayden Pierce (9) and Alex Ince (10) both took two minutes off of their PR this year.  If they can continue to do that, they may have a chance.  On the girls’ side, Maddie Clark (10) and Macey Stallings (11) have a good shot at qualifying next year,” stated Carroll.

As for the middle school cross country team they finished strong and had a great season. Devin Carroll medaled in 6 meets, and Kasandra Courtney medaled in 7 of 9 meets. One of the standouts on the middle school cross country team is Mikah Edwards. She medaled 10 out of 10 races that she competed in while also finishing first in 9 straight meets.
