Fair Grove High School Band and Choir Perform In Winter Concerts

The Fair Grove high school band and choir held their annual winter concerts in December. The choir performed December 8, while the band performed December 12. The high school choir performed in the lower elementary gym. The band performed in the high school gym.

Bailey Steele (11), who plays the flute for the Fair Grove high school band, stated, “Overall, I think the band played pretty well. For the first time in a long time, the band played together and stayed together.” The band played the Ukranian Bell carol, Sleigh Ride, and the Fantasy of Carols. Bailey said, “Personally, I did pretty well. My solo was clean and I didn’t forget the key.” The band will play at basketball games during the winter.

Hayden Pierce (9), is a tenor for the high school choir, stated, “The concert went good, the choir sounded good together.” They sang the Carol of the Bells, Silent Night, Winter Wonderland, and classic Christmas carols. Hayden said,”Carol of the Bells is my favorite because it makes all of the different singing parts stand out.” “I did good, I tried to really sing loud”, Hayden said.

The Fair Grove high school choir will now practice for upcoming events in the spring, and the band will also practice for upcoming concerts in the spring. The choir went caroling around Springfield on December 7th, which is something the choir does every year. They will also perform in Camdenton in the spring.
