The Fair Grove Boys and Girls track team started February 16. There are 6 girls on the girls team and the boys team have 30 boys. There first meet is the 22nd of March.

According to Coach Talbert, the boys track coach, some of the boys key players are Chase Adamson (12), Elijah Young (11), Garrett Love (11),  Dominic Hoskins (10), Garrett Cross (10), Ryan Odom (11), and Stephen Scaletty (10). Coach Talbert said, “Elijah and Garrett are our most decorated players.” Coach Talberts main goal is for each of the guys to significantly advance from the first track meet to the last track meet if they qualify. Coach Talbert stated, “We are focused on getting better each day and everything else will fall into place.”

Coach Talbert expects the team to compete this year in track meets. Coach Talbert mentioned,”Realistically, we probably won’t be able to get enough points to put us into contention to win many track meets, but we will have a few guys getting medals at each meet.

Coach Martin is the girls track coach. She says that all the girls on the team are key players. The girls are Sidney Hill, Bailee Morgan, Maddie Clark, Lizzy Gravitt, Emma Sandford, and Brooklyn Luna. Some key returning runners are Sidney Hill and Maddie Clark, according to Coach Martin. Sidney Hill is the only upperclassman. Coach Martin says, “…she [Sidney] has been a staple on our sprinting relays her freshman and sophomore years.” Maddie Clark is returning this season as a reigning state champion in the 400 meter.

Coach Martin expects to see the girls reach their potential and their goals. “At the beginning of the season we discussed what they wanted to accomplish,” mentioned Coach Martin.
