The Fair Grove 2018 Varsity Football season came to an end after a very successful season. With only one loss against Buffalo High School in the regular season, Fair Grove football has made an impact this season. Fair Grove played against the Strafford Indians on Friday, November 2nd, and won the game 20-12. The score was close, but the Eagles pulled through. They then advanced to the district championship against Ava. Deel said, “Strafford is our biggest competitor, we played our best game all season against them. All of us were really focused, and our heads were definitely in the game.”

The boys played in the district championship on November 9th against Ava, Ava won, 56-27. Junior Bryce Thornton stated, “Ava was a tough competitor, they had a well rounded team all together, we played as hard as we could.”

Thornton also stated, “We are coming back for more next year, and I’m very excited to play hard my senior season.” The boys spend their off season getting stronger by taking weights class, playing other sports, or working out on their own time. Junior Garrett Cross said, “I take time to get stronger in the off season. I run, lift weights, and run track in the spring.” He then added, “I’m pumped for next year football season because we are ready to work hard like we did this year.”

Deel added, “I’m sad that this season is over, but overall I am proud of the way the team came together and worked hard all season to make it to the district championship.” The boys are ready to come back next year and make their way back to the district championship.
