While school is just getting started, many FFA (Future Farmers of America) members have been working throughout the summer. Everything from remodeling, serving food and showing livestock. Many members dedicate plenty of their summer to make Fair Grove’s agriculture program the best it can be.

On July 9th-14th, four FFA members attended the Washington Leadership Conference held in Washington, D.C. Brooke Heavin, Leah Weaver, Lucas Crutcher, and Travis Reynaud attended sessions over chapter leadership development, while also experiencing tourist attractions, such as the Lincoln Monument.

Many of the 2019-2020 FFA officers had a chance to get acquainted with each other during the Officer Retreat to Ha Ha Tonka in Camdenton, Missouri. Officers participated in team building activities, practiced meeting procedure, and played ice-breaker games. This was an important opportunity for the officers to plan out the rest of the year.

During the Ozark Empire Fair, FFA members worked at the Cattlemen’s Association Beefhouse. There they were asked to serve meals, clean tables, and help close afterwards. As well as working for the beefhouse, members were asked to meet with Senator Roy Blunt during the fair. During this conference, Senator Blunt discussed agricultural issues.

The Fair Grove FFA members stayed busy this summer with multiple activities; their year is just getting started. They have National Convention, Barnwarming, and contest season to look forward to in the coming future.
