Mad Hatter’s Tea Party #2

It’s time for another sip from the tea cup! This week I decided to go to another boba tea shop; this week’s feature is La Boba Cafe. This shop is located on Sunshine Street, in a strip mall next to a Pizza Hut. I have to say not the most appealing outside appearance, but it was clean and filled with black and white decor.

La Boba did have more drink and food options than my last location, but was on the farther side of town. At least for me, it was a less convenient location. They offered both hot and cold drinks, milk tea, iced tea, snow cones, smoothies, and ice cream rolls. They had different selections of toppings and additional flavors then just the tapioca pearls. For example, I experienced coconut jelly. It was sweet and added flavor to my drink, but wasn’t a harsh coconut taste. For those tea lovers that have texture issues, the jelly may not be a good choice. It did have a chewy and slimy feel, but it wasn’t unappealing, it tasted great and added to the drink.

I had a really hard time picking something this time, not only did they have their main tea flavors, but they also had lots of flavored milk teas. It seemed like they didn’t use a lot of syrup for flavor and actually used real ingredients. I did end up drinking the purple mace; it was taro milk tea with coconut jelly. It was fairly sweet on its own, but the jelly added texture, sweetness, and a fruity flavor the tea maybe needed a little more of.

Overall I really enjoyed this week’s tea adventure. I would go to this cafe if I wanted more options, or maybe wanted to try something totally different. Going a few extra miles for a good cup of tea wouldn’t be so bad every once in a while. Stay mad, and remember that it’s always tea time.
