From October 25th to November 10th, Springfield Tittle theater has been performing Little House on the Prairie, the Musical. The musical was a summary of the Little House on the Prairie series by Laura Ingalls Wilder. The production stars Laura, and her family of five, moving west. It ended with her settling down and getting married, including all the hardships she had to face in the new frontier. Laura and her family endured everything from cold winters without much food, to her oldest sister surviving scarlet fever and losing her sight in the process.

The performance included an Orchestra that featured some music from Academy Award winning composer, Rachel Portman. The orchestra, vocals and choreography was incredibly animated and kept you on your toes from the moment they stepped on stage to the curtain call. The chemistry between the actors was phenomenal for such a large cast. There were very few mistakes and they were all recovered from smoothly. The set consisted of walls on wheels, a table and some chairs. The stage was transformed from the western frontier into their home, a schoolhouse, the town, and everywhere else the storyline took the audience in a matter of seconds. Overall, I don’t think it could have been much better; the attention to detail in every aspect of the production was amazing.
