It’s February, and love is in the air (either love, the tears of single people or fears of commitment). It almost seems like there is no inbetween, you either hate cheesy romance movies with your entire soul, or you spend hours sobbing over your favorite characters over and over again (there was totally room for Jack on the door!). Disney+ and Netflix have done it again, providing the best movies and shows to fill your lonely- ahem, I mean lovely– Valentine’s Day.

Netflix already has several movies for the candy hearted holiday including P.S. I Love You, The Spectacular Now, After, The Perfect Date, One Day, Kiss and Cry, Man Up, The Ugly Truth, Amar, Newness, 6 Years, and several other movies to laugh and cry while eating discount chocolates the day after Valentine’s day. The hit teen romance, To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before, has it’s sequel coming available to stream on February 12th, called To All the Boys: P.S. I Still Love You. From Disney+, we have all the classic Disney Princess love stories, plus several other favorites. These favorites include 10 Things I Hate About You, Never Been Kissed, Tuck Everlasting, The Last Song, While You Were Sleeping, The Parent Trap, and Geek Charming. With movies like these, it may not even feel like you’re home alone with your cat on Valentine’s day… again.

For those who smell the love in the air and then grab some air freshener, Disney+ and Netflix has plenty to enjoy. The live-action The Lion King has already made its appearance on Disney+. In the future, Star Girl will arrive on March 13. Netflix also has several movies that will be making an appearance, including Horse Girl (Feb. 7th), Faith, Hope, and Love (Feb. 4th), #cats_the_mewvie (Feb. 5th), A Nightmare on Elm Street (Feb. 1st), Desolate (Feb. 6th), Captain Underpants Epic Choice-o-Rama (Feb. 11th), Dragonheart: Vengeance (Feb. 4th.), The Ballad of Lefty Brown (Feb. 7th), The Coldest Game (Feb. 8th), Azali (Feb. 7th), and many more movies are sure to make an appearance this February.

Several new series and seasons are coming to these favored streaming services as well. On Disney+, the final season of The World According to Jeff Goldblum and Star Wars: The Clone Wars. Netflix announced several series updates such as Locke & Key season 1 (Feb. 7th), Miraculous: The Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir season 5 (Feb. 1st), The Pharmacist (limited, Feb. 5th), Narcos: Mexico season 2 (Feb. 13th), Better Call Saul season 4 (Feb. 9th), Arrow season 8 (Feb. 5th), BoJack Horseman final episodes (Jan. 31st), Love is Blind new episodes (Feb. 13), Who Killed Malcolm X? season 1 (Feb. 7th), Dragons: Rescue Riders season 2 (Feb. 7th), and Cagaster of an Insect Cage season 1 (Feb. 6th) join the collection as the month unfolds.

As February rolls in, bringing Valentine’s Day romance movies with it, I hope that you can find the perfect movies or show to make it the best holiday of 2020 yet. Who knows, maybe we’ll have more snow days and you’ll be able to watch that one movie you’ve been putting off for so long. See you next time!
