Fair Grove Parent-Teacher Conferences Undergo Changes Due to COVID-19

The Fair Grove school year has seen multiple changes this year due to COVID-19, and the latest affects the annual Parent-teacher conferences.

Chris Stallings, the high school principal, stated, “As COVID cases continue to impact our school and county, we will be moving away from face to face parent teacher conferences for this fall.”  Unlike normal conferences, this year’s meetings will only be held with the parents of students that have a D or below, unless discipline issues need to be discussed.

Stallings commented, “Parents and teachers will also have the opportunity to utilize Google Meets for a virtual meeting opposed to just a phone call. This would involve situations where it is important for the student, parent and teacher to all be in the meeting together.” Administration is adamant that this new system could never fully replace the old “face to face” style. Stallings said, “Sadly, due to the seriousness of the situation we believe this is the best approach at this time.”  He later added, “We love opening up our building to our parents, so we will miss all of the positive interaction that typically happens on those night.”
