On May 23, 2024, the Class of 2025 is the new senior class at Fair Grove High School, as many changes prepare the class for the following school year.
With the Class of 2025 becoming the new senior class in Fair Grove, more responsibilities come to the class, with being the eldest students at Fair Grove High School. The Class of 2025 is preparing to move onto the next chapter of their lives after graduation.
Current juniors are preparing for their final year of high school by beginning to think about what college, if any, they will be attending, taking harder classes, taking dual credit classes, and getting out of their comfort zone. Nolen Geitz (11) described how he has been preparing for his final year of high school, “I have been trying to figure out ways to prepare myself for college like taking dual credit classes, taking harder level classes and keeping up with them. I’m also taking a business and career prep class next year with Mrs. Overstreet that should help a lot with my future.”
Although being a senior brings more things to be concerned about, it can also bring much more freedom, which is an aspect that Emma Padgett (11) is looking forward to next year. “During my senior year I’m most looking forward to the freedom and fun that it’s going to bring. I don’t have a hard schedule but I have some difficult classes thrown in there like anatomy. I can’t wait to better myself and get ready to enter the world after high school,” Padgett stated.
Padgett has also started to think about her future, and is currently working as a Nurse Assistant at Cox South, and is looking forward to reaching her goals and moving up higher in the hospital setting. Collin Emery (11) has also been working throughout his junior year, and is planning to continue working throughout his senior year. He currently works at McDonald’s.
New responsibilities also come with being a senior, such as new positions and clubs and extracurriculars. Lucas Engel (11) is looking forward to his new leadership position in the Fair Grove High School Band, “I am going to be a Drum major next year and that is something I am very excited about,” he stated.
The feelings surrounding graduation and leaving the community after graduation are shared through many of the Class of 2025. Padgett summed this up by saying, “Fair Grove has taught me who you can trust and how to trust others. It’s taught me to work through problems with other people, because you don’t have to do everything by yourself. I’ve learned self discipline and made myself work for what I want to accomplish.”
