Tamitha Gott has been a Paraprofessional in the Fair Grove R-X district for the past 22 years. The 2023-2024 school year will be her last year, as she has recently announced her retirement.

Gott explained her job as a Paraprofessional, “My job as a paraprofessional is to assist students with their daily assignments in the classroom.  I also help students with daily tasks, such as making sure they are prepared for class, making sure they get to class on time and they know their daily schedules.  During my time working in the Daily Living Skills classroom, we helped students with such tasks as learning to do laundry, planning, cooking and serving a meal and personal care.

Gott has worked with many different students and teachers during her career at Fair Grove. She has continued to help support many students. Kayla Holt, Fair Grove Middle School ELA teacher said, “Mrs. Gott is a phenomenal support for all students, not just students who have an IEP, but for all students in the building. She is always there to help them in whatever they need.”

Gott not only helps students, but teachers as well. Holt stated, “She is emotional support for me in many ways. I am able to take a five minute break if needed and she can just jump in for a moment. It’s awesome that I can rely on her not only academically but emotionally as well.”

Gott has had the opportunity to work alongside many different staff members said Gott, “I have worked with many different teachers and staff members over the years.  Each one of these individuals has had an impact on my life in some way.  I feel blessed to have worked with so many wonderful people who truly care about the success of their students.”

Gott has had many great memories at Fair Grove, “My favorite part of working at Fair Grove has been my morning duty assignments, such as bus duty, cafeteria duty and front entrance duty.  I enjoy greeting the students as they arrive at school in the morning and to check in with them to see how their day is going.  I try to greet every student with a “Good morning”, because you never know how their day was going before they arrived at school.”

Gott has impacted many students, teachers, and faculty in her years at Fair grove. Her years of dedication to the Fair Grove R-X district will continue to leave a lasting impact.
