The 2025 Fair Grove Christmas parade filled the streets, and community members gathered to celebrate the holiday together. The parade featured floats, groups, and performers who helped bring Christmas spirit to a small town.
The Fair Grove marching band and color guard had the opportunity to perform while walking in the parade. The band performed the Christmas song “God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen,” while they marched a short route from the high school to the top of Main Street.
Lacie Workman (10) was a part of the color guard team. She explained, “My role in the parade is marching in front of the band, doing color guard choreography with the rest of the color guard girls, our part of the parade is merely for looks and entertainment.”
There was a great deal of preparation and organization that went into the parade. The band worked on memorizing music during the first hour of school to get prepared. The day before the parade, they all practiced on the track to be prepared for performing outside.
Giuliana Kandlbinder (12) said, “We wore Christmas attire and went to decorate our instruments.”
Workman explained, “The color guard walks with the band, we have fun choreography to the Christmas song ‘God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen’. We also decorate our flags (the band kids decorate their instruments) with tinsel or ribbon to be more festive.”
The parade had a huge impact on families and the community. It was a good chance to spend time with old friends and celebrate Fair Groves traditions. Workman mentioned, “It gives me and my family a fun Christmassy event to go to and support Fair Grove while doing so.”
The Christmas parade was on December 6th and was followed by a tree lighting ceremony at the Fair Grove Mill.
