Fair Grove High School’s class presidents each have a similar role by talking on behalf of their class as well as helping decide what to do or talk about for the next meeting, voting for important topics having to do with the events that student council leads such as homecoming or courtwarming.
At the end of the 2023-2024 school year, the presidents were elected for the 2024-2025 school year.
The freshman candidate Cinch Dowling (9) did not have to go up against anyone for the spot of freshman class president. Brylee Mallard (10) and Alyssa Faubion (11) also did not have to compete for their positions as class president for their respective grades. However, for the senior class, Karlee Marion-Swan (12) won class president after the assembly and speeches. Student body president is voted for within student council, for the 2024-2025 school year, Keith Nolan (12) was voted for the most and therefore won.
The presidents do a lot of extracurricular activities outside of the student council such as Dowling who does many sports and many clubs. Dowling said, “I do multiple extracurricular activities and sports. I do track, cross country, and soccer. Some other clubs I am included in are Students Against Destructive Decisions , Distributive Education Clubs of America, Future Business Leaders of America, and Future Farmers of America…”
Two of the presidents have more to their role than the others. Nolan, since he is the student body president, leads the meetings for student council and the assemblies. Marion-Swan has different responsibilities as she stated, “As class president, I communicate with my class about things that concern them such as senior color, flower, song and a staff speaker. This helps keep the communication clear.”
