Project Graduation (Project Grad) is an annual committee of senior class parents who work together throughout the year to prepare an end of year celebration for the Fair Grove 2024-25 senior class.
Their big end of year celebration for the senior class is being hosted at Incredible Pizza in Springfield, MO. During the event the senior class will get together for the last time to eat, play games, compete for prizes, and spend their last moments together as a senior class.
Project Grad hosted multiple fundraisers throughout the year in order to fund their big event. Rhonda Perryman, senior mom and Fair Grove Schools Administration Assistant to the Superintendent, shared that their most successful event to fundraise for this year was running the Fair Grove Fall Festival parking lots.
“Some of our senior parents really took the initiative early on to approach business owners and ask their permission to let project grad park cars in their lots. We ended up having around five lots, which really contributed to our success,” Perryman explained.
Seniors have the opportunity to work fundraisers during the year to help raise money towards the celebration. Meadow Carter (12) helped with the elementary school basketball camp and with the project grad raffle that took place during home football games.
Carter shared how she feels Project Grad has impacted her and the community, “I have benefited from learning that our community is so supportive of our 2025 class, and that giving to the Fair Grove community will benefit us in the long run financially! I am very grateful for all of the donations to our class, we all are very close with our community.”
She added that she is looking forward to spending one last time with the people she has grown up with for the past twelve years, competing for prize money for college, and riding the mechanical bull.
“My senior year has been a big deal for my family, and the community in general. I feel seen, loved, and supported by the community. Being able to do activities and graduation fundraisers has brought me closer to my class, and closer to the community itself,” Carter shared.
She concluded, ¨I can’t wait to graduate, and part of that is thanks to the community’s donations and support!¨
