The 2017 World Series

The Houston Astros and The Los Angeles Dodgers worked hard all season to make it to the World Series. Unfortunately only one team could come out victorious. Game 1 began October 24th at Dodger Stadium. The Los Angeles Dodgers were favored to win the world series over the Houston Astros, and the first game showed it. The Dodgers won 3-1.

The Dodgers were very confident in how they were playing as they only allowed a single run that game, but in game 2 they looked like a completely different team same for the Astros. Game 2 started the day after game 1. Game 2 was an offensive explosion for both teams. The Astros won 7-6. Going into game 3 the Dodgers knew they had to contain the Astros offense from the devastating loss. They had a day to evaluate and make changes. These changes defensively still weren’t enough as the Astros won game 3 with a score of 5-3.

After the Dodgers have lost 2 straight games to the Astros game 4 was a must win if they wanted the momentum to head in their direction. Game 4 began on October 28th. The Dodgers fixed their defensive issues and beat the Astros 6-2. At this point in the world series both teams had records of 2-2. Game five would turn out to be an offensive shootout.

Game 5 began on October 29th. Both teams didn’t have a problem scoring runs as the Astros edged the Dodgers 13-12. The Astros at this point were 3-2 and the Dodgers were 2-3. The Dodgers would have to win game 6 in order to stay in it. On October 31st the Dodgers beat the Astros 3-1. Then a day after they played the game they played game 7 to decide the 2017 World Series Champions. The Dodgers offense just wasn’t up to par and the Astros brought home their 1st ever World Series title winning the game 5-1.
