As Spring Break approaches closer to the Fair Grove schools, the week of March 11 to 15 seems eventful for both students planning on traveling and others staying home for the break.
Addison Voorhis (9) said, “Honestly, right now I don’t have any plans for spring break except sitting at home and finishing a couple books.” She added that her family usually does not travel for spring break and so she is hoping to finish the rest of the books on her bookshelf.
Michael Van Cleave, one of Fair Grove High School’s math teachers, explained, “I don’t have any specific plans for Spring Break, at least not yet. We are working on remodeling our basement, so I will probably spend some time on that. If the weather is nice I’m sure I will do some fishing and ride my motorcycle.”
Van Cleave furthermore stated, “I will also hang out and chill with my family. We like to watch TV together, play board games and card games, and play video games.”
Stephanie Dunham (12) commented that she plans on taking the free time to work as much as possible, as well as finishing scholarship applications. Dunham explained, “I have these plans in order to continue saving up for college and the busy times that await spring.”
Sophia Brumfield (11) said, “I don’t have many plans besides practice every morning. I will probably hang out with friends the rest of the time and we have a soccer game on the 15th.”
There is usually a lot to look forward to during spring break. Van Cleave said, “I’m looking forward to a week where I don’t have to think about work.”
Dunham explained, “The thing I am looking forward to the most from Spring Break is the amount of free time I will have to relax and hang out with friends.”
Brielle Mahr (11) commented that she is looking forward to being able to sleep in during break since she won’t have to get up as early.
Brumfield expressed the same feelings as Mahr and added that she is also looking forward to not having any homework and taking the opportunity to relax.
With some Fair Grove students making plans during March 11 – 15 and others planning on staying home, spring break seems to be perfect for both.
