For the past three years, Jacob Supancic, has been teaching at Fair Grove as the Middle School Special Education teacher and High School Boys Basketball coach.
During his first year at Fair Grove, Jacob aided High School Government teacher Amy Johnson’s classroom. Johnson expressed her admiration for Jacob, “I loved having him in my class. He was always striving to improve and listened to recommendations…” Jacob also aided as a para-professional and subbing classrooms before becoming a special education teacher.
Jacob didn’t originally plan on teaching upon entering college, however, he eventually switched his major, wanting to be more involved with schooling and sports. Jacob explained, “During my third year of college, I switched my major from conservation to education because I enjoyed school and wanted to be more involved with sports. That change eventually led me into teaching and coaching.”
Some of Jacob’s current goals include growing as a teacher and being effective at meeting students’ needs. He claims he wants to improve his classroom management and instructional strategies, focusing at the middle school level.
Jalen Supanic, the Fair Grove Digital Communication, Personal Finance, Graphic and Web Design, Business Manage, and Middle School Computer teacher, commented on his brother’s commitment, “My brother is passionate about whatever he is doing. He has always been invested in pushing and improving others, which is why he is a great coach and mentor to his students and athletes.”
Jacob explained that his biggest strength is his dedication, “I am committed to what I do and want to see things succeed, even though that can sometimes be challenging when things do not work out right away.” Johnson added, “He was the best at jumping in and helping out even when he was just observing.”
Jacob expressed how he felt about his brother teaching and coaching alongside him at the same school, “He has always been a role model for me and it’s nice to still have his support and encouragement both professionally and personally.”
Jalen added, “Getting to coach and teach with him has encouraged me and made me enjoy my job that much more. I have loved getting to see him grow…”
Jacob Supancic has shown his improvement and dedication over the years, learning how to grow alongside the school and encouraging others for years to come.
