Colorful lights, formal outfits, and groups of friends filled the dance floor as students celebrated prom this year. Students spent the night taking pictures, eating together, and making memories during one of the most memorable social events of the school year.
Prom is sometimes considered one of the biggest milestones of high school, giving students the opportunity to celebrate with friends before the school year comes to an end. This year’s prom brought together students from different friend groups and created a fun atmosphere throughout the night. Many students said the best part of the event was simple, being together and enjoying the experience.
Junior, Skyelar Farthing, said her favorite part of prom was, “The color lights around the dance floor.” The decorations and lighting helped create an exciting atmosphere that made the night energetic and memorable for students.
For many students, prom was also about spending time with friends and creating memories together. Junior, Allison Sechler, said, “My favorite thing about prom this year was the group of people I went with.” Allison attended prom with a group of seven friends, she added, “We all got along and had so much fun together.”
Students also enjoyed the activities before prom started. Many groups went out to dinner together before arriving at the dance. Sechler and Farthing both said they ate at Outback Steakhouse before prom. Junior, Gunner Pritchett, stated, “My favorite part of prom was going out to eat before.” Dinner gave students the chance to take photos and spend time together before the dance officially began.
The outfits also played a big role in the night, as students got prepared for their outfits weeks in advance. Farthing said she wore a blue dress while her boyfriend wore a silver and white suit. Sechler also chose a blue and white dress for the night, and Pritchett wore navy blue. Getting to dress up and not see each other as casual as usual made the night exciting and fun for the students.
Although every student had a different experience at prom, many agreed the night was memorable because of the people they spent it with. Between the decorations, dinner plans, dancing, and group photos, prom gave students the opportunity to celebrate together and enjoy a night they will likely never forget.
