Fair Grove High School Football and Softball Coach Bill Voorhis announced his departure from the Fair Grove School District after the 2025-2026 school year. Voorhis has been working in the district since 2014, but has decided to move on with his teaching and coaching career to another position. Over the years of him coaching Fair Grove High School Football, Voorhis’s record is 110-33.
Over his years of teaching, Voorhis brought many strengths to the Fair Grove school district and community. Randie Roepke, the Fair Grove High School Principal, described him as, “…a constant role model at Fair Grove, especially for the football players. He provided mentorship and leadership for our football kids.”
Roepke continued, “I was talking to somebody the other day, he averaged around 50 kids a year on the team, that’s around one seventh of our high school that he was the coach. He was good at mentoring the kids, outside the football field he had the kids prepared for whoever the opponent was.”
Voorhis explained his biggest highlight over his years of working at Fair Grove, “The easy answer is the biggest highlight was reaching the state championship game, but on a more personal note my favorite memories or highlights will be revolve around watching my girls grow up and participate in all the things here at Fair Grove.”

Anika Nyberg (10), a Fair Grove High School softball player, added, “I am really happy that he is getting an opportunity to open many doors for him and his family. I will miss our practices and team bonding together and I will definitely miss Addie and Aubrie Voorhis.”
Since the beginning, Voorhis has grown a connection with the Fair Grove community. Voorhis explained what the community and school means to him personally, “It means the world to me, it was the place that gave me another chance as a head coach and the place I will always remember my girls growing up in.”
Voorhis has had a lasting impact on not only the students, but the staff and Fair Grove community as a whole during his years of working at the school. Assistant High School Principal Damon Seiger explained, “Coach Voorhis will be greatly missed, not only for the success he brought to Fair Grove football, but for the relationships he built along the way. He has been a tremendous football mind, colleague, and friend.”
