The Fair Grove High School Football team has ended their 2025 football season with a 5-5 record.
The Fair Grove football team had their first district game against the Ava High School Football Team on October 31st, 2025. This game resulted in a loss, ending the 2025 football season.
Prior to districts, head coach Bill Voorhis said, “Our biggest strength as a team has been our ability to be multiple on offense and defense. We have had several key injuries this year and we have had to change our style several times because of guys that we have not had in the lineup.”
Voorhis noted two students who stood out to him from the season, “Gavin Thomason (11) has done a great job at quarterback for us this year and Adrick Wilson (12) has had a great year on the defensive side of the ball.” Jeremy Faubion, offensive coordinator, also mentioned Carson Trussell (12) and Dylan George (12) who both had season ending injuries, but still stuck with the team.
Many players have different memories that are special to them. Offensive and defensive lineman, Nolan Dorsey (12) said, “I would say my favorite game this season was the Strafford game just because they are our rivals and it’s always good to beat Strafford.” The Fair Grove Strafford football game was on 10/24 at Strafford High School and ended 35-7.
Additionally, free safety and wide receiver Wilson said, “My favorite part of the season was during the summer when we would all wake up at 5 AM and go lift weights as a team, and all be able to grind together.”
Defensive end and fullback, George could not choose a favorite memory, as he cherished every second of the season. He mentioned how the summer weights helped the team, “We started off with some crazy momentum, feeling powerful coming off the summer.”
The team practiced throughout the entire season. Faubion explained the goals of practice, “Mainly becoming the best team we can be, believing in ourselves and our program, and having fun playing the game of football.”
Later into the season approaching districts the atmosphere of practices shifted. Wilson explained, “Practices were pretty light but we still had conditioning. We limited the number of full go reps to keep injuries down.”
The 2025 Fair Grove football season has ended with a record of 5-5. The season was the last football season of the 2025/2026 seniors. George said, “I will miss everything, even the parts that were difficult. It’s something that only those who have played can understand: football is more than just a sport to me, it’s part of who I am and I can’t get enough of it.”
