On October 31, 2025, the Fair Grove Elementary School celebrated their annual Halloween party and Halloween parade. Elementary students played games, ate snacks, and dressed up to celebrate the holiday.
Parents help host the party by bringing snacks, and games for the children to play during the party.
Haddie Smoot (1), along with her fellow classmates, dressed up all day at school in fun costumes. They then walked in the Halloween parade throughout the middle school and the high school to show off their fun outfits.
There were many memorable costumes in this year’s parade, but some stood out more than others. Smoot stated, ¨I dressed up as a witch. I like turning people into frogs.¨
Lily Holt (4) explained, ¨I dressed up as a clown. I wanted to be something scary because it is Halloween!¨
Erin Hart, a fourth grade teacher who has been teaching for 11 years in the district, shared that she enjoys watching the students interact with each other while performing in fun activities set up for them.
Hart commented that they did something new in her class this year. They painted, which can be very messy, but her students enjoyed it.

Holt explained, ¨ We played Halloween bingo! It had fun Halloween characters that I really liked.¨
Another activity that was done in many classes this year was the mummy challenge. Classmates would be split into teams and given a roll of toilet paper. Students would wrap one of their peers into the toilet paper to make them into a mummy. Hart said that this was a hit and the kids loved the competition.
Many students explained their love for the food at the party. Holt explained that her favorite food item they were served was the loaded nachos. Other students expressed how they liked getting candy and sweet treats. Susanne Feldman, a high school math teacher, handed out suckers to students as they walked through the halls.
Smoot exclaimed, ¨I don’t like the Halloween party, I love it!¨
