The recent car show was not only a celebration of cool vehicles and automotive passion but also a heartfelt event supporting children in need. The Savage Sounds team, a car audio team in Springfield, generously donated toys, spreading joy and kindness throughout the community.
Lydia Miller (12), one of the amazing kids that go to Fair Grove High School and a part of The Savage Sounds, showed her love and passion for not only cars but for kids by hosting a toy drive at Peace Chapel. Miller stated, “My motivation for the toy drive was to get toys for kids who aren’t as fortunate during Christmas, or parents who struggled during the year and felt like they couldn’t provide as much as they wanted to.”
Miller continued, “I also felt like it was a good opportunity for my car audio team, Team Savage Sounds, to get the opportunity to get out there and build bonds with other teams.” With this opportunity they raised a little bit over 200 dollars for the kids and The Team Savage Sounds donated $200 dollars worth of toys to the Peace Chapel.
The toy drive and car show took place on Saturday November 8th. Miller said, “I plan to host 9 more events over the 2026 season for a variety of different charities.”
Miller stated, “This event was a Car audio competition with a car show on the side to include all car loving enthusiasts.”
Miller continued, “Each person who wanted to participate in the Car Audio competition donated one toy for an entry into their national class. We had over 150 spectators, 40+ competitors and had over 20 MidwestSpl classes being participated in.”
Miller said the toy drive and car show was special to her, she said, “This toy drive is special to me because I feel like it’s important to give back to the community and do what I can to help parents/kids. All the proceeds we raised went to Peace Chapel and we donated a little over $200 to them. We also donated over 200 toys to the toy drive.”
