Graduation Parties are specific events held by senior students at Fair Grove High School, which is a celebration of them finishing their last year of school.
With the school year closing up, the seniors get ready for their last day. A main event is their Grad Parties, as senior Macklen Johnson (12) states, “I am hosting all my friends and their families out to my house to celebrate.” Later he stated, “I am hosting my party in my backyard at our outdoor area.”
It is more of a bittersweet moment for these students, as they are finally able to go and live the rest of their lives, away from the Fair Grove’s Eagle nest. They also have to leave everybody, and as Macklen added, “I am going to miss my friends, all of us are going in separate directions, we are going away from each other, but I think we will still connect with each other.”
Johnson (12) spoke about how much he is going to miss it, but senior Adrick Wilson (12) wants high school to end, saying, “ I am very excited, I am excited to start working and making money,” and later he stated about the party specifically that, “I am really excited to see everyone there and see how much money I get.”
These parties are full with a whole bunch of different events ranging from food and games, to going into town and renting out big areas, or for some even renting out bouncy castles. Senior Wilson stated about his plans, “My plans for my grad party are to have a huge gathering with friends and family at the veranda with foods and snacks for people to come and go.”
Graduating is a bittersweet experience. It is a time filled with sadness by parents, and a time filled with joy of how far you have come and what you could be able to do in your future life. The relationships that we make in our times in school will stick with us forever, and as the senior Johnson stated, “I am excited to connect with my friends for one last time in our high school careers,” Wilson (12) also stated that, “I think the thing I am going to miss the most is seeing my friends in the halls everyday and socializing.”
