ManPuff is a boys volleyball event run by FBLA/DECA (Future Business Leaders of America, and Distributive Education Clubs of America). ManPuff is a fundraiser for the Salvation Army’s Angel Tree foundation. It was held on December third of 2025.
As a fundraiser, all proceeds from ManPuff are donated to the Angel Tree foundation and for each person that attended the event one dollar was donated. The Angel Tree foundation is a fundraiser for struggling families to buy Christmas presents.
There are many parts of setting up the ManPuff event. Macklen Johnson (12), a Fair Grove student, and both chair member and officer in FBLA/DECA said, “Each FBLA/DECA event has a committee, and in each committee there is a chair, and they kind of run the whole group.”
Johnson mentioned, “The setup for ManPuff requires more than you think.” He continued, “It includes creating the bracket, making sure everyone is all on the same page, as well as creating new papers for concessions and the entrance table.”
Casye Overstreet, the marketing teacher at Fair Grove and FBLA/DECA co-sponsor, stated her role in ManPuff is to, “…oversee and assist with the planning and success of ManPuff events.”
To be on a team in man puff there’s a few things you have to do. Overstreet said, “Coaches must be FBLA/DECA members who are current volleyball players. They can then recruit anyone affiliated with Fair Grove schools.”
Overstreet stated, “Setting up for ManPuff is a team effort. FBLA/DECA officers on that committee plan weeks in advance.” The planning entails getting refs, recruiting teams, advertising for the event, and lastly prep the day of the event.
Overstreet stated, “My favorite part of ManPuff is watching the fun everyone has, especially the female coaches coaching up their teams.” She also added, “I also love the reason we do it. All proceeds go to buy Christmas presents for students and their families right here in our district.”
Johnson said, “ My favorite part of ManPuff is getting to what it is like to play a volleyball game. There are times where I watch volleyball games, and think I can compete, but I play it and realize it’s harder than you think.”
At ManPuff out of all five teams, only one team took the trophy home that night. The winning team was the Gangsterliscous Gangsters. The Gangsterliscous Gangsters team consisted of Wyatt Barber (11), Skyler Todd (12), Kolton Klindworth (11), Noah Mestmacher (11), Harrison Martin (11), Brandt Snitker (11), Finn Harp (11), and Jacob Shurtz (11). The coaches of this team were, Carlie Krider (9), Taylor Lumley (9), and Olivia Broyles (9).
