The Fair Grove basketball teams have both been preparing for the respective tournaments; the boys for the Blue and Gold Tournament, and the girls for the Pink and White Tournament. Each team has been doing many different techniques in training and preparing for the tournaments.
The girls have been preparing for the Pink and White Tournament with practice and bonding. Sage Crowley (11), stated, “With the pink and white coming up our team has really just been preparing by bonding. Having the team learn how each other plays and knowing how to work with each other is very important.”
With preparation, there is also time for the girls to enjoy themselves. Andie Evans (9), stated, “My favorite thing about the team this year is getting to hang out with my older friends in school more.” Additionally, Crowley mentioned the level of effort the girls team is putting in this year. She shares that with almost a brand new varsity team, many girls were new to the experience but put worked their hardest to rise to the challenge
Simultaneously, the boys basketball team has also been preparing for the Blue and Gold Tournament. The team has been practicing hard and preparing to hopefully defeat many teams in the tournament. Grant Fuller (12) stated, “We are hoping to win our next few games so we can have a decent seed in the tournament. With us graduating 8 seniors from the team last year a lot of other teams doubt us and our ability to play…” He continues, “…we will probably get a low seed and we will be preparing for a good team to start the tournament. My personal goal is to make it to day four of the tournament no matter what that looks like.”
The Fair Grove girls and boys have both been working hard to dominate this year in their respective tournaments. The Blue and Gold Tournament will be held at Missouri State University from December 26 through December 30. The Pink and White Tournament will be held at Drury University on the same dates.
